Voting is the saddest expression of Stockholm syndrome. If you weren’t inundated with propaganda, you would never try to rationalize it. From a blank slate, no one could convince you to do it. If you walked in unaware and saw its fruits, you would claim it illogical and insane. Yet, if you have been trained into it, you will defend it with a cold-knuckled grip.
Democracy, constitutional republic, representative democracy… it’s all presented as “giving a voice to the people” or “securing your liberty and protecting your rights”; meanwhile, no one can tell you how many federal laws are on the books. Imagine that for a minute. There are so many laws that no one can even count them and give you an accurate number. That sounds fake, but it’s real.
This doesn’t even count codes, administrative rules, ordinances, or state and local laws.
It’s a racket. You’re presented with billionaire-backed shills vs. corporate-backed monsters and told to pick one.
Even the founding document, the pride of every indoctrinated patriotic heart, the Constitution, is a lie. We are taught that it was written to chain the federal government, when in fact it was written to strengthen it. It was written because the central government was considered too weak by the men who wanted to run it.
And what has it gotten us? Almost every comfort and innovation we can point to has happened in spite of government and is ruined because of it.
They take nearly a third of your income… probably more when fees and mandates are counted; they have laws that prevent you from capturing rainwater; you must get a license to fish or hunt; you can’t grow your own food in some places; you have to beg for permission to express rights that the sacred document supposedly secured with its first two amendments.
You can go to jail for not paying fines or taxes even though debtors’ prisons supposedly don’t exist. You have to pay rent to them for your own property and ask them how you can use it.
No matter which supposed side is in office, government grows. People who will tell you to vote for one or the other are either lying or ignorant. There is no “either”; there is simply “them.”
Voting for any of them just gives them permission. It makes you an accessory. Stop doing it.
